The traps of starting an online business
When you first start online it is vey easy to get overwhelmed with the opportunities that are available.
You sign up for a couple of newsletters that recommend other things that you sign up for, and before you know it every time you open your email there are more exciting opportunities that you need to take advantage of immediately.
I remember Dave Cavanagh talking about this happening to him when he first started out. He said that he had spent a lot of time collecting a heap of stuff but what he really had was stuff all.
It is very easy to get caught up in all the hype and spend your day going from link to link downloading wonderful stuff but in reality you aren’t actually achieving anything.
The key is to treat this as a real business not just a hobby and focus on the tasks which produce results.
I find the following helps keep me on track.
Focus on one project at a time, do it well get it finished then you can quickly duplicate it.
Work to your strengths outsource the things that you aren’t good at to leverage your time.
Before you go on line write down what you want to achieve, and only look at site that have the information you need.
Unsubscribe from all but 2 or 3 lists this avoids a lot of distractions.
Have set work times and stick to them, if this means missing your favourite TV show some times so be it.
Do something you enjoy it is always much easier to stick at something you enjoy.
I have also found either having a coach or someone else to work on a project with helps you achieve better results because you are then accountable to them.
The best value one on one coaching program I have come across is Dave Cavanagh check out this review by one of his students. Dave is one of the great speakers in the Money Masters Home Study. For more Information check out www.geturselfstarted.com
Cheers to your success
